Industrial in-house training
Careful training is always successful
The diversified Swedish labour market calls for
a number of skills which are not readily available through the basic
educational system. In-house training, especially in a variety of
industrial contexts, is an important complement to raise the competence
of the employees.
Many of the large companies in the region focus
on their own in-house training programmes to improve the skills
of their personnel. A further important feature is, however, the
co-operation between private enterprise and the various labour market
bodies, where solutions are often found to meet very specific company
needs.
The local employment exchanges have an open dialogue
with the industrial companies to discuss these needs in order to
develop the region's commercial and industrial life. In many major
cities there is an ongoing training activity where private interests
and regional bodies co-operate to adapt special education programmes
to the existing labour market. The aim is to prepare the students
for work in very specific areas, including e.g. industrial techniques,
computer programming and other high-tech sectors.
